The Role

This fast-growing and reputable international investment fund is seeking a skilled (Impact) Investment Manager Africa to strengthen its team. This position offers the chance to manage and grow a portfolio of impactful investments, identify and execute new deals, and collaborate with industry stakeholders to drive sustainable solutions across the continent. You will be part of a mission-driven, high-performance team working to create system change on a global scale.

Key Responsibilities

As an (Impact) Investment Manager Africa, you will be responsible for the following:
• Identify, source, and evaluate new investment opportunities aligned with the organization’s mission
• Conduct in-depth analyses of portfolio companies, including financials, market, impact, and risk factors
• Negotiate term sheets and lead due diligence processes
• Actively manage the performance of African portfolio companies to achieve optimal financial and impact outcomes
• Support portfolio companies in strategic decision-making and operational improvements
• Conduct quarterly reports, monitor KPIs, and prepare investment proposals
• Build and maintain strong relationships with investors, syndication partners, and industry experts
• Represent the organization at conferences to expand its network
• Stay updated on trends in Africa’s sustainability sector and relevant financial markets

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this position will have:
• Master’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a position with similar responsibility
• Strong understanding of the African business environment and culture
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English
• Proficiency in Apple and Microsoft Office tools, familiarity with databases, and excellent IT skills
• Preferably, an understanding of global food production and the sustainability industry
